I went through the temple on December 27th. I took some pictures of the temple I love most in the world. It's beautiful. And, someone who thinks I'm beautiful took one of me. I liked it. So here they are, though I have many many many more. :)
You look beautiful! I'm really excited for you! I always wanted to go on a mission, I don't regret not now of course but I'm really happy that you get to experience that. I can't think of anyone that would do a better job. I miss you!
I started blogging when I did a Study Abroad Program in London through Brigham Young University, Spring 2008. I liked it so much, I thought I'd keep it up!
We were going through the natural history museum and I was walking past this giant scorpian when it started moving! It was seriously terrifying and my heart skipped several beats. Jess screamed and nearly dropped her camera. It was great. :)
Trafalgar happiness
Jess and Lyndi at Trafalgar Square, happily enough.
Lyndi in London
This is me on the Tower Bridge. True to Mecham tradition . . . well, I'll just say I held true to Mecham tradition with bridges and made Jess do it with me. :) If you're really interested, or really reading, you can comment somewhere on this page and ask me what our tradition is. :)
Beauty and the Beast
I think this is an interesting interpretation of this story. It fascinates me because by the end of the play/movie/production, you LOVE the Beast! How could anyone love this alienated creature? He's a mixture of George Lucas' imagination and Christmas lights. He's scary looking! And tall! So . . . how do I love him?
Little Purple Pansies!
Well, on my trip to the London England Temple I was wearing purple and accents that were purple. I found purple flowers and it makes for a cute picture. So . . .
St. Paul's Cathedral
Basically, it's beautiful. I like Westminster Abbey better, but St. Paul's is gorgeous too.
Women's Suffragettes!
This is me and Mrs. Pankhurst! Who's been clapped in irons again! It just reminded me of Mary Poppins and I liked it! :)
The Wizard . . . and Me?
Jess and I went to see Wicked
Hey! Remember when we saw this the display case for this in Cairo?!
So, when we went to Cairo as a family, we visited the Cairo museum. There were displays where the cases were empty because the contents had been sent to the British Museum. Well, I found them! One in particular was "The Rosetta Stone." If you look really close, you can see Jess and me reflected in the casing.
Passing the Torch
Here is clear evidence that everyone wants to be as cool as my family! Here we have Meagan and Amy on the steps of St. Paul's cathedral, modeling the Bird Lady and Pigeon, respectively. If you need further explanation, read Carrying the Banner.
Artistic shots
The next couple of pictures are just really artsy, and I really like them. They turned out great on the camera and I want to share them with you. This one is the church in Temple, that I talked about somewhere else on this page . . . :)
You wouldn't think to take pictures of the sun normally . . . in Hyde Park ,everything's more lovely than before!
another artsy shot, but my first glimpse of Ben this trip. It was so exciting, I got giddy.
St. Paul's
The London England Temple reflecting pool
Stained glass window display in the V&A
Tower Bridge flying the Union Jack
AMAZING! I didn't even do it on purpose. Little did I know, the camera had something exciting and special in store for me . . . and for Jess! :D
This one might be my favorite. Honestly, who would've thought that pictures you just take because the light is good and the day is warm would end up being . . . artisticly and aesthetically pleasing?
Middle Temple Hall
So, I'd never heard of this place before, but the Temple Tube Stop is in the middle of the Temple district. I don't remember details, but it had something to do with the Knight's Templar and cool stuff like that . . . Look it up. Now it's the centre for laywers and attorneys etc. It's really beautiful, actually.
Heidi will know
The Giving Tree
Our first day in London we went to Hyde Park. While walking through, I saw this HUGE stump and thought immediately of the sweet tree, who gave all that she had to a boy that she loved. I love that story sooooo much, that I just had to have a picture on the stump. So . . . here's one of them.
Kensington Palace
Jess and Emily
Westminster and Parliament at Night
I just think the contrasts in this image are . . . delicious!
Jess and Me
We totally crashed a single's ward dance. It was WAY fun!
Peter Pan and Me
I just don't think there's enough room for complete creative license on these pages. If there is, I haven't discovered the wonder of it yet. So, here's another picture. Enjoy!
